Help Lift Up This Family

A week ago, I received a call from my book publisher and friend, Peter Lopez. An eternal optimist and always a smiling face, it caught me off guard to hear in Peter’s voice that he was clearly distraught. Unbeknownst to me, he had suffered a massive heart attack and gone through open-heart surgery, but that was not why he was emotional.
I listened intently. The journalist inside me tuned in. If Peter was not upset about that, then what could possibly be worse?
He then shared that on the same day he was going in for surgery, his eldest son had checked into the same hospital and was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma (cancer). Broken up, he searched for words, but what was clear was that we needed to tell his story.

Visiting Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Florida, I met Peter’s son, PJ, and listened to his story. A pastor and father of four, he was now undergoing his first chemotherapy treatment with a specific mixture called the Red Devil. All I could do was push record, listen intently, and capture his emotional words on tape.
After a second shoot with Peter in Orlando, I gathered the assets and created the video you can watch here. This video aims to raise funds and help support the Lopez family. Getting hit with this double blow is hard enough. Adding medical bills and the daily struggle to keep going makes it far more challenging. Relief from friends, family, and you is needed.
I am committed to helping support the Lopez family and am donating $500 to help them stay on their feet. I share this not because I am special or want attention. I share it because I am asking you to match my donation.
I encourage you to click the link below, watch the video, and contribute.

How you can pray for the Lopez Family:
Pray that Peter would have a speedy recovery from surgery, and that Peter’s son, PJ, is healed as he goes through the next 6 months of chemo treatments.
